Kitui: Shockwaves in Wiper as Nominated MCA Declares Support for Ruto

Journalist-turned-politician Jacqueline Kalenga, a Wiper Party-nominated MCA in Kitui County, has stirred political waters after openly declaring her support for President William Ruto.

Speaking during an empowerment event in Kanyangi, which was graced by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki on Friday, Kalenga shocked attendees with her bold remarks praising the Kenya Kwanza leadership.

“I come from Sombe, and there we say give to those who give you and do not give to those who don’t. So, will you support Ruto and Kindiki?” she posed as the crowd cheered.

Kalenga went further to credit Ruto and Kindiki for what she described as “the good things” currently happening in the country.

“Good things come from Ruto and Kindiki,” she declared in a song.

Her comments have sparked reactions across Kitui and beyond, given her position as a Wiper-nominated MCA, a party that has remained firmly in the opposition under Kalonzo Musyoka’s leadership.
