Why Matungulu MP Mule Wants President Ruto and CS Kindiki to Resign Immediately

Matungulu MP Stephen Mule has called on President William Ruto and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki to resign, arguing that their continued stay in office contradicts the will of the people.

Speaking during a public address in Machakos, Mule urged President Ruto to heed the prevailing national mood and step down voluntarily, arguing that a majority of Kenyans have lost confidence in his leadership.

“The President himself asked why Kenyans are chanting ‘Ruto must go’ and how he should leave office. Article 146 of our Constitution is very clear — it outlines that a president can vacate office through death, resignation, or other constitutional means,” said Mule.

The outspoken MP also took a swipe at Deputy President Kithure Kindiki accusing President Ruto of bypassing democratic procedures in his appointment.

“Even the so-called deputy president should resign. He was handpicked instead of being elected as stipulated by the Constitution. Let the Speaker of the National Assembly assume office for 60 days as we prepare for fresh elections. Kenyans are ready,” Mule added.

He further condemned what he described as “fake empowerment programs” initiated by the Kenya Kwanza administration, citing a recent incident in Kisukioni as an example.

According to Mule, residents from across Matungulu sub-county were mobilized and transported to Kisukioni last week with promises of food and financial aid during a visit by DP Jithure Kindiki and other leaders. However, he claimed, the leaders’ motorcades sped off without addressing the crowd, leaving many feeling deceived.

“The people were duped. They were promised lunch and empowerment, only to be abandoned under the scorching sun,” he said.

Tensions reportedly escalated outside the Deputy County Commissioner’s office, forcing police to disperse the angry crowd using teargas.

Mule now wants the government to stop what he termed as “public relations stunts” and instead focus on delivering meaningful services to Kenyans.

“They come flashing money before our people, then pack it back into their baskets and rush to another place to hoodwink unsuspecting Kenyans. Let them be told — we have seen through their tricks,” he said.
