Stop using my name to campaign – Kamene tells off competitors

Machakos County Women Representative Joyce Kamene Kasimbi has asked her competitors to stop using her name in their campaigns promising them a tough battle ahead of the August general elections.

Addresing the press after being cleared by IEBC at Machakos Teacher’s College, Kameni said that she has done a lot for the people of Machakos County and she is ready to account for her work.

“Sell your manifesto to Machakos people, not lies and propaganda. All in all, be sure that I will beat you come 9th August. I have learnt that most of my competitors are going around using my name to campaign. Stop using my name to campaign. Sell your agenda to the electorate and if you think that you have no agenda, kindly step down. Machakos is not a place to joke around with.”Kamene said.

She further called for Peaceful Campaigns devoid of insults, saying that there is still life after politics.

“This is just a season. You will insult me today, what about tomorrow? We need to be keen and exercise mature politics. I don’t insult anyone and that’s why I preach peace. “She added.

Being the Wiper flag bearer, Kamene thanked her party leader Kalonzo Musyoka for recognizing her work and granting her a direct ticket.

“I thank my party leader for giving me this ticket. I have always been a wiper diehard. Am grateful to my party leader Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka. He saw my good performance for the last 5 years and decided to give me a direct ticket. I want to promise that I won’t let him and the party down.” she went on.

Other candidates who have so far been cleared include Rita Ndunge of Maendeleo chap chap party among others.
