Second Edition of Governor Wavinya Cup tournament Set to Kick Off

The second edition of the Governor Wavinya Cup tournament is set to commence on September 14, 2024, with matches taking place across all wards.

This year’s tournament will see 640 teams from across 9 sub-counties and 40 wards compete for the top prize including the reigning champions, Kaluluini FC from Yatta who emerged as Champions in the first edition held in 2023.

The tournament described as one of the greatest youth talent hunts in the region will run until December 14th, when the final match will be held, and the overall winning team will walk away with a grand prize of Kes. 1 million.

In collaboration with relevant stakeholders including Football Federation of Kenya, Governor Ndeti ‘s commitment is to steer a dynamic turnaround with focus on scouting, nurturing, and promoting sporting talents and unearthing young football talent at the grassroots level while using Sports to free communities from poverty, vulnerability and establish stronger economies.
