Gospel sensation Stella Mengele, famous for her hit song Kindu wa Kingi, masterfully evaded a tricky question about the ongoing feud between Stephen Kasolo and fellow singer Ken Kijana, better known as Ndeke, whom she fondly refers to as her ‘son.’
The singer was a guest on the popular Obinna Show, where a heated moment arose.
Host Obinna directly asked Mengele whether she intended to play peacemaker between Kasolo and Ndeke, who have been embroiled in a public spat for quite some time.
“Will you unite these two who are constantly fighting, given that Ndeke calls you ‘mum’?” Obinna pressed, looking to spark a conversation that could potentially shed light on the ongoing rift.
But Mengele, ever composed, wasn’t about to fan the flames of gossip. Instead, she offered a profound response that left the audience and even Obinna momentarily speechless.
“Have you ever seen a mother wash her dirty linen in public?” she retorted calmly, her words laced with wisdom. “Those are family matters, and we’ll resolve them at home, not here.”
Her tactful response immediately struck a chord with her fans, who flooded social media with praise for her ability to steer clear of the drama and handle the situation gracefully.
One TikTok user, Kokofei, commented, “Hapo umejibu vizuri, Ndeke is lucky to have you as a mum.”
Lizzy Bet added, “Makofi Mengele, you have spoken like a wise woman!”
Another user, @peninah1988, chimed in with, “Mrembo uko sawa! Wasikupee stress, wewe bado mdogo sana. Mbona usumbuliwe na watu wazima? Achana nao wamalizane.”
Even @MUENI TV.23 praised Mengele’s poise, writing, “Mungu alikupa hekima, mama.”
Kasolo and Ndeke have been embroiled in an on-and-off beef for reasons that remain unclear, with their disagreements occasionally playing out in public.
