Patients at Kangundo Level 4 Hospital will soon enjoy advanced diagnostic services locally, thanks to the ongoing construction of a new radiology unit.
Dr. Daniel Yumbya, Machakos’ health boss, announced that this development will save patients the arduous journey to Machakos town and other areas for radiology services.
“Our people were going all the way to Machakos for imaging services. This radiology unit is a significant step forward in our commitment to improving healthcare accessibility and quality for our community,” Yumbya said.
Speaking during a visit to inspect the project, Dr. Yumbya addressed the hospital’s medics, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and confidentiality in patient care.
“Protecting our patients’ privacy is paramount. This is not just a legal obligation, but a moral one,” he added, calling on the medics to uphold the highest standards in safeguarding medical records and personal information.
During the visit, Chief Officer Infrastructure Rashid Kala said there are ongoing projects at Ndununi health center, Mukunike health center, and Kawauni.
“Here at Kangundo Hospital apart from the radiology unit we have renovations of toilets and soon we will have a conference center,” Kala said.
