Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has taken on Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua over the closure of Macha Beach Club and the arrest of the Hotel’s staff by Machakos County Government officials. The Hotel belongs to Sonko’s ally Kalembe Ndile.

“If kalembe talked bad and this stupid Governor thought that he was offended, he should have gone and arrested Kalembe. I do not condone impunity and corruption in Nairobi.” Sonko said.

“Our need is to bring development to the grassroots. Si kama magavana washenzi kazi yao ni kupeleka pesa kwa kampuni za bibi zao na watoto wao…Si siasa ya kutumia kura yenu kama toilet paper, kama huyu gavana wenu hapa wa Machakos. Ni pumbavu amepungukiwa na akili. Anaabudu masanamu.” Governor Sonko dismissed Mutua.

He announced that he will be supporting people with low incomes to be in leadership come 2022. Sonko further dismissed Tanga Tanga and Kieleweke factions and he called for Kenyans to support the president finish his term successfully.

“Nandi Governor went and uprooted tea. You saw all the leaders there because tea is a protected crop. When the Governor is asked whether he has fulfilled his election pledges he does not answer but moves to arrest staff working at Kalembe’s hotel. We cannot accept precedence to be set. If i talk tomorrow, he will also come, close my houses and arrest my staff.” Makau dismissed the county’s move to close Macha beach hotel.

Makau also told off Mutua that time for dictatorship was over. He asked him to learn from President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Mavoko MP thanked Sonko for accepting to donate food to residents of Athi River that are facing hunger. “Mlolongo is full of Garbage, Athi River as well. Before, he goes to fix Nairobi, let him fix Machakos first before going to Nairobi.”

Kalembe Ndile also dismissed the move by Governor Mutua to close his hotel saying that was expected of him as he chased his wife and children. The Lawyer for Kalembe’s staff Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo said there was no charge sheet and there were no offences presented for the arrested staff.

“People vote for you and you turn against them and you start closing their businesses. He has done wrong to close this businesses. We will work with Kalembe to ensure this staff get justice” Maanzo said.

Simon Mbugua EALA MP said that the Team Wanjiku was focused on defending the rights of Wanjiku. “If you see someone doing away with his wife and taking samantha…even Boda Boda guys cannot leave their women. According to my investigations, he stole Jaguar’s wife.” the legislator alleged.

Kalembe Ndile’s Macha Beach Club shut down after criticizing Mutua

The County Government of Machakos Wednesday Shut down Water Park Hotel popularly known as Macha Beach Club that is owned by former Kibwezi MP Kalembe Ndile. This after the Former legislator took on Governor Mutua who said that he will personally repair defaced Tom Mboya and Dedan Kimathi Statues that are in Nairobi CBD.

Kalembe told Mutua that he is not different from “Tanga Tanga”. He said that Mutua promised a new city and despite bringing the president to launch the project nothing happened from then. “The water that he pledged and showers, there is none that can be seen. I am a resident of Machakos .” Kalembe questioned.

“I want to ask Mutua, instead of going to wander in Nairobi to talk about statues, statues do not help Kenyans in any way. Kenyans need something to eat. As team Wanjiku i want to tell Mutua to do the work he was elected for. Statues should be dealt with by National Museums.” Kalembe Ndile said in an earlier interview Wednesday.

“Let him come to Machakos and Work, the two years left is a very short period. He had promised to have Makutano-Machakos highway a dual carriage way. I do not know whether that money has been used by the statues.God will judge the leaders. Kibwana should work and Stop Public relations.”

It is this remarks that seem to have landed Kalembe Ndile and his Water Park Hotel in trouble with the Machakos County Government. According to the Public health report seen by Mauvoo News, the premise are said to have been operating without a Valid Food hygiene license, lack of a proper liquid waste management, lack of a kitchen store and staff protective clothing among other issues.

“You are here by served with this notice in writing requiring you not to use the food plant until the conditions are fulfilled.” part of the report read.

County staff opposed to my 2022 Gubernatorial bid are looting public resources – Senator Mutula

0

Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior has accused Makueni County staff opposed to his 2022 Gubernatorial bid of benefiting from the theft of public resources. According to the senator, County and National Government staff have an obligation to protect public resources.

“Do not loot public resources. If you need money from business, go and open a kiosk in Wote. Public money should be protected.” The senator said.

“We sat with MPs yesterday and we disagreed a lot. We want counties to get more money. We did not agree on the division of revenue bill. As the budget was read, we had not agreed on how much will go to the counties and the National Government.” Mutula added.

There is a looming cash crunch in counties after the mediation committee failed to agree on the allocation to counties. The senate proposed 335 billion while the national assembly fronted 314 billion. If the mediation team completely fails to agree, counties will have to rely on overdrafts until a new Division of revenue bill is published.

In that scenario development in the counties will be greatly affected. Garissa Town MP Aden Duale defended their hard stand saying they were defending the country’s deficit.

Mutula spoke Friday at the funeral of Makueni CDF driver Peter Muendo at Kithuki in Kitise – Kithuki ward. Other leaders that were present included; Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo, kathonzweni McA Francis mutungi and his Mavindini counterpart Jonathan Kimongo.

Makueni MP Dan Maanzo who was also at the funeral dismissed Governor Kibwana’s move to quit the wiper party. “Let us pray all Kambas to be united. Most of us are together, only a few are not with us. A lone Buffalo is the one attacked by lions.”

Makueni senator Mutula Kilonzo junior is believed to be among the top contenders for the Makueni Gubernatorial seat in 2022.

I would still have retained my seat even without wiper support, Governor Kibwana

Makueni Governor Prof. Kivutha Kibwana has trashed claims that he used the Wiper ticket to retain his governor seat.

Speaking on Thursday at Kwa Kathoka Kibwana said that he joined wiper after consulting Makueni residents.

He added that he had the support of the people and would have easily retained his seat even as an independent candidate.

“They say that I used Wiper so as to retain my seat, I did not choose to go to Wiper it is Kalonzo himself who asked Makueni people after which I agreed.”

Kibwana noted that Makueni people trusted in him in 2013 enough to elect him governor without any track record.

“Even if I was in Muungano I would have gotten back my seat.” According to the Governor, he has not been notified about the ‘divorce’ between Wiper and Muungano parties but he is okay with the decision. He further observed that everything they agreed with Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has never been actualized.

“We agreed on many things with Kalonzo when signing the agreement before the last general elections but he has not heeded to any.” Kibwana noted.

He also accused Kalonzo of using former leaders to frustrate his leadership.

Two weeks ago when Kalonzo visited Makueni County, he announced that the timeline for the agreement between Wiper and Muungano parties had elapsed.

The agreement was for a year that ended last year and the Muungano party would be considered the opposition in the county. Kibwana observed that he would not force himself to be in the marriage. Once the divorce is done, he says he might land a better partner than the Wiper party.

Kalonzo: Our Marriage with Kibwana’s Muungano party is over

0

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that Wiper’s agreement with the Muungano party expired. According to Kalonzo, the agreement was for only year. He spoke while meeting a section of leaders in Makindu.

This comes days after Kibwana asked Kalonzo to retire from politics and support another candidate from Ukambani as he had failed to secure the presidency over the years. The second term Governor also asked Kalonzo to keep off Makueni affairs.

Kalonzo revealed that going forward they will count Muungano party as opposition in Makueni. “I think as you have heard senator Junior saying, the thing has lapsed. We will now have Muungano as opposition because the Majority MCAs are from Wiper. I have informed speaker Douglas Mbilu on the same.”

The wiper leader accused Muungano of being a thorn in the flesh when they joined Wiper. He lamented that some of this leaders used the agreement to try and spoil the Wiper party.

Musyoka also invited Kibwezi West MP Patrick Musimba, Prof. Philip kaloki, Former Makueni Speaker Stephen Ngelu and other leaders to join Wiper. He called for Wiper leaders to work together in unity.

Kalonzo later attended the funeral of Margaret Syokau Ndolo at Makindu ward, Kibwezi constituency.

Did Kibwana shoot himself on the foot by attacking Kalonzo

On 10th February 2017, Wiper Party signed a pre-election pact with the Muungano party at a ceremony held in Kambu. One of the obligations in the pact was that Kibwana was to help Kalonzo get the NASA presidential ticket. This however did not materialize. Under the deal, Kibwana would defend his seat with Wiper party. He succeeded in that.

According to Political Pundits Wiper saved Kibwana from losing his seat in the 2017 General elections. On the 8th of August he was able to recapture back his seat but a year later things started changing.

In early 2018, Kibwana teamed with the other Ukambani Governors Alfred Mutua and Charity Ngilu and their union seemed to irk Wiper leaders. Last week Kibwana dropped the bombshell calling for Kalonzo to retire from politics.

He also called for Kalonzo to support him for presidency in 2022 since he had failed to deliver the presidency after many years. “We have supported you for long and every time you vie you fail. It is time you support one of us this time we either clinch or fail.” Kibwana said.

All this time, When Kibwana attacked Kalonzo, Kalonzo never responded. However, on Monday Kalonzo stated that there is no relationship with Muungano party since their agreement became null and void in 2018.

The Wiper Party leader said that Muungano should now be considered the opposition party in Makueni County since its the minority.

The support of MCAs is important for a sitting Governor. Among their roles, the ward representatives approve budgets and have the power to impeach Governors.

Due to this Kibwana should know that having the least MCAs in the assembly means some bills will face challenges before being passed. This scenario was witnessed in the First Assembly of Makueni and development in the County stalled for the better part of the first term.

It is this support that Kibwana needs to smoothly finish his last term which is very vital for the legacy of the Governor. Without support from most of the MCAs this will be hard for him going forward.

Kibwana to Kalonzo: You have failed to deliver the presidency, support another candidate

The rift between Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana seems to be widening. This is after Governor Kibwana called for Kalonzo to resign from active politics.

Speaking on Thursday in Kawala village where he was commissioning a borehole, Kibwana said that Kalonzo has been in politics since time immemorial. All this time, Kibwana says the Kamba community has had his back up until now but it was time he went home.

He added that it was time Kalonzo supported another candidate from the region to contest for presidency in 2022 since he has been unable to deliver the seat to the community.

“We have been supporting Kalonzo for long and every time he contests for presidency or supports any coalition he fails. He should now support us from the region who are interested in the seat we clinch it or lose.” Kibwana said.

Kibwana also said that Kalonzo has held several senior positions and no single time has the kamba community let him down. He vowed that a delegation will be sent to give the sentiments officially to Kalonzo.

“We will send a delegation comprising of elders, women and youth to go and tell Kalonzo that the time for us to contest has come and he should throw weight behind us. We have stood with him since 1993 up to now.”

He went ahead to say that Makueni region will not be supporting leaders blindly citing that they have always been assumed. The second-term Governor asked Kalonzo to keep off Makueni politics and stop sending people to fight him

“I was chosen by the people and if I can’t deliver I will come back to them and tell them that I can’t discharge my duties expected and ask them to elect someone who can and Kalonzo should be told to keep off Makueni affairs.”

“I don’t speak about him I have been silent but there comes a time when one is pushed to the wall. Makueni has been behind Kalonzo even when he is rejected in his home place,” he added.
