Mlolongo MCA message to Governor Wavinya on Machakos Ward fund

Mlolongo/Syokimau MCA Daniel Ndwiki has urged the County Government of Machakos not to share the Ward fund equally.

Addressing journalists on Monday, Ndwiki observed that there are Wards with more people than others, and dividing the funds equally will be unfair.

He gave an example of his ward which has over 40,000 voters while others have less than 10,000 voters.

“If these two are given the same amount of money for bursaries and development then it means the Wards with a higher population will suffer because it will get like a tenth of the funds,” Ndwiki said.

“I would like to urge the planning committee to sit and plan well on how everyone will benefit even in terms of development because if we are given the same amount then some of us will appear like we are not working for our people. I will also be bringing the motion to the assembly soon,” he added.

Ndwiki who heads the Roads committee urged Governor Wavinya Ndeti to construct a modern market for business people in Mlolongo and ensure good drainage.

Ndwiki noted that traders in Mlolongo have been operating in the open air and need a designated area to do their business.
