Fresh Changes Hit Machakos Cabinet in Latest Reshuffle

The Machakos County Government has announced a major reorganization of its senior leadership aimed at enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency.

In an official circular dated July 2, 2025, and signed by County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr. Muya Ndambuki, the reshuffle affects several County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) and Chief Officers (COs).

The changes take effect immediately.

Under the new structure, Rita Ndunge—who had previously been suspended—has been reinstated and will now serve as the CECM for Water, Irrigation, Sanitation, Environment, and Climate Change.

Nathaniel Nganga has been reassigned to the Department of Roads and Public Works, while Anastacia Munyaka will take charge of Lands, Urban Development, Housing, and Energy.

Among the Chief Officers, Guliye Abdullahi has been appointed Acting CO for Lands and Physical Planning. Papaa Koin Lompo will head Litigation and Enforcement, Antony Mutunga is now in charge of Citizen Engagement, and Simon Kirima will oversee Emergency and Disaster Management.

Dr. Ndambuki directed all affected officers to prepare for the transition and implement the changes in line with established government procedures.

“In an effort to recalibrate our service delivery, the government has been reorganized. These changes take effect immediately,” the circular stated.
