Former Statehouse Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita has announced his return to Machakos Politics ahead of the 2027 elections.
Taking to his X account, Waita asked Gen z’s from Machakos to be ready to take the government from thieves, sluggards, and corrupt people.
“Gen Z’s wa Macha kaeni ngangari! Masaa ya kuchukua hio serekali inakaribia… hakuna kubembelezana na wezi, wazembe na wafisadi!! Elected leaders work for the people & must remain accountable to them always.. Period! #Macha2027.” Waita said.
In December 2022, Waita announced a break from politics to focus on personal and professional growth.
“As the New Year beckons, I will be taking a break from politics to focus on my personal and professional growth. I will continue to contribute to our nation’s development and well-being as a private citizen. ” Waita said then.
In his first attempt at politics, Waita came second in the 2022 Machakos Gubernatorial elections with 129,181 votes. Wavinya Ndeti carried the day with 226, 609 votes.
