Facts about Nzioka Waita that you didn’t Know

Nzioka Waita is known to have served as chief of staff at State House and the head of the Presidential Delivery Unit. He joined Safaricom in 2001 and rose steadily through the ranks in various capacities. Between 2003 and 2015 Waita was a founding Trustee of the Safaricom Foundation and the Director, of Corporate Affairs.

He is 46 years and a father of one

Nzioka Waita was born in 1975 and he is 46 years old. Although Waita tries to keep a low profile about his family, he is married to Audrey Wainaina who is also an advocate of the high court with experience in corporate, government, and in private legal practice. They have one kid together, Mwendwa, and Waita likes to call himself ‘Baba Mwendwa’.

Went to the same school as President Uhuru

Waita went to school at the prestigious St. Mary’s school in Nairobi and President Uhuru Kenyatta was also schooled there. However, these two were there in different years.

Waita is a Safari Rally Enthusiast

He participated in the safari rally last year but crashed out after breaking his gearbox. In 2019 He also participated and came 24th out of 60 competitors in Naivasha. At one point he disclosed that he weighs 107 kilograms and knows Taekwondo.

Advocate of the High Court

He has served for 18 years as an advocate and also a member of the Law Society of Kenya and a certified public secretary. Waita attended the University of Sheffield between the years 1996 – 1999, where he was an active member of both the Afro-Caribbean and the Kenyan Student Societies. Waita graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). After graduation, Waita returned to Kenya where he started his career as a legal apprentice for one of Kenya’s top-tier law firms Daly & Figgis.
