Machakos Gubernatorial Aspirant Nzioka Waita had promised to drop a ‘bombshell’ today. At the rooftop of the Gelian hotel, Waita named Speaker Florence as his Deputy.
Machakos County Assembly Speaker Florence Mwangangi who had shown interest in the Machakos Gubernatorial Seat stepped down in favor of Nzioka Waita.
Speaker Florence Mwangangi said that there comes a time when people have to think about the future, sacrifice their ambitions and work together.
“At times we have to consult, think broadly, and come to one agreement. The late George Saitoti said there comes a time when the nation comes first.” Speaker Florence said.
“I am now supporting and endorsing my learned friend Nzioka Waita for Machakos County Governor Seat. He’s able and capable.”She went on.
The strengthened Nzioka Waita praised Speaker Florence Mwangangi as a focused leader, who will help him score on Machakos County Leadership
“Nobody can separate me and Florence Mwangangi. We are going to shape Machakos County to the city you’ve been crying for.”Waita said.
The speaker and Waita noted that they will share the Government 50/50.
The Duo is now set to face off with the Wiper candidate who will be announced after next month’s nominations, UDA’s Johnson Muthama, Lawyer Kyatha Mbaluka among others.
