Kalonzo And Waita In Heated Exchange Over Machakos Gubernatorial Seat

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked residents not to elect another Mutua as Machakos county Governor, referring to Nzioka Waita.

Speaking during a wiper rally at Kangundo Subcounty, Kalonzo said that people needed to elect a Governor who can serve the people and not someone whose business is to attack him.

Kalonzo who was accompanied by Former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti who is eying for the gubernatorial seat said that Mutua had messed the county and it’s time they elected someone who is credible and hardworking.

“We have had a tough time as Machakos people because we elected thieves and we do not want another ” kavaluku”again we have had one and we do not need another one,” he said.

“You elect someone instead of being a good leader he or she is busy fighting Kalonzo. This time round we need a leader who will work for the people of Machakos,” he added.

His words did not lie well with CCU Party leader and Machakos county Gubernatorial candidate Nzioka Waita who in a separate meeting said that Kalonzo Musyoka was the one who brought Mutua to the people of Machakos and ensured that they elected him in 2013.

The former state house chief of staff while addressing residents of Kathiani said that Kalonzo Musyoka had no right to liken him to Mutua as he was different from the incumbent. He pointed fingers at Kalonzo saying he was the indirect cause of the challenges in Machakos after bringing Mutua.

“Kalonzo is going around saying Waita ni kama Mutua, let me ask you in 2013 who brought Mutua to Machakos county in Wiper party, it is Kalonzo who brought Mutua,” he said.

“The ills of Mutua to Machakos residents is because of Wiper’s introduction of Mutua to the people of this county and they should stop tarnishing my name because I have never vied for any seat this is my first seat to vie for,” he added.
