Machakos Senatorial Aspirant Muthama Urbanus Ngengele has decamped from UDA party to join Azimio La Umoja Coalition.

Speaking at a press conference in Machakos Town, Ngengele said that he had weighed his decision to move to Azimio la Umoja saying that it was a decision that favored the kamba community.

Ngengele noted that the decision came after doing some consultations with Machakos residents and it was time the Kamba community becomes part of the next Government.

“I have today decided to join Azimio coalition because that is the next Government and it is for the interest of the Kamba community,” Ngengele said.

On matters of the party he was going to join, Ngengele said that in due course he was going to reveal the party calling on his supporters to be patient with him.

“I have held several talks with our Ukambani kingpin Kalonzo Musyoka and we agreed that for the sake of the community I join the Azimio la Umoja coalition.” He went on.

Ngengele had contested for Machakos County senatorial by-election last year after the demise of Senator Kabaka with the UDA party. He lost to Agnes Kavindu in the by-election.
