Mbaitu FM presenter retires after 32 years

Mbaitu FM Presenter Joseph Mulwa popularly known as General Tata or Isele Mwene is retiring after 32 years in the media industry.

In a post on Mbaitu FM Facebook page, the station disclosed that Tata is going home after working at the station for 13 years.

He had been hosting a show dubbed ‘Isilye Keli’ which has been focusing on lifestyle and attracted great listenership.

While bidding him goodbye his colleagues shared a cake with him noting they will miss him greatly in the airwaves.

“General Tata, Isele Mwene is retiring from media, he has been in media for 32 years and 13 years on Mbaitu FM, “read the post in part.

“He has been hosting ‘Isilye Keli’ show and we as Mbaitu I’m station we wish him all the best as he retires to focus on other thongs,” it read further.

Sammy Mulinge ‘Mbilondo’ in his farewell message said that Tata has been a ‘father’ to anyone who joined the station and did not relent to nurture talents.

“He has helped in engineering work and nurtured many including me because when I joined media I was very green but he was always there to hold my hand,” said Mulinge.

His fans on Facebook could not believe their favorite host was retiring but wished him well in his endeavors.
