A middle-aged man is nursing serious injuries after he was allegedly beaten in Kiangini Village, Mumbuni, Machakos County, in what authorities suspect was a case of infidelity.
Confirming the incident, the Assistant Chief of Kasinga Sub-location said the man was found in a compromising situation with another man’s wife, which reportedly led the enraged husband to assault him.
“The man was discovered lying by the roadside with serious injuries. I received a report about the incident and immediately alerted the police. We proceeded to the scene and found the victim in critical condition. An ambulance was called to rush him to hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment,” said the assistant chief.
He added that the injured man is believed to be from Mbooni in Makueni County and had allegedly traveled to Machakos Town, where he met the woman. The two then proceeded to her matrimonial home in Kiangini Village.
“The husband suspected something was amiss. When he confronted his wife, she claimed the man was her cousin, but the explanation did not convince him,” the chief added.
Police have launched investigations to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident as the victim continues to receive medical attention.
