Give Machakos people jobs first before bringing outsiders – Mwala MP tells Wavinya

Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau alias Kawaya has taken a swipe at Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti for handing some chief officer positions to outsiders.

Speaking during the burial of former Mwala/Makutano MCA Justus Kyalo Kimata in Kavunyu, Kawaya asked Wavinya to employ people from Machakos first.

“Wavinya is the one in office, what I can do is request her. When we have jobs, they can help people from Mwala or any other place. But she has gone and brought “woria” and others.” The Mwala MP said.

“It’s not like we are saying other communities are bad but when we have opportunities, let’s be given first priority because there is poverty here in Machakos,” he added.

There has been an outcry after Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti handed the prime dockets chief officer positions to people not from Machakos.

Some dockets handed to non-locals include; Finance, Medical services, Water, Revenue management, public works, and public health.
