Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai Bans Wiper Party from his Constituency

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai has declared a ban on the Wiper Democratic Movement and its leaders from his constituency following the expulsion of nominated MCA Jacqueline Kalenga from the party.

In a strongly worded Facebook post, Mbai criticized the Wiper Party’s decision to expel Kalenga, warning that the party and its leadership are no longer welcome in Kitui East.

“You touch our daughter, you lose your visa to Kitui East,” Mbai wrote. “We never asked you to nominate Jackie, but we will not allow you to denominate her. The name ‘Wiper’ in Kitui East will be treated as a capital offence.”

He further cautioned Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka against interfering in Kitui East affairs, adding: “Just pull out of this or never send anyone to talk about Wiper in Kitui East. Hii mchezo nayo kusasa hatutaruhusu [This game, from now on, we will not allow]. All Wiper MCAs, MPs, and senators are banned from Kitui East until Jackie is reinstated. Mbaya Mbaya—back to factory settings.”

According to a letter dated July 1, 2025, the Wiper Party officially expelled Kalenga over her alleged failure to pay a KSh300,000 party fine.

The fallout comes days after Kalenga publicly endorsed President William Ruto during a women’s empowerment fundraiser in Kitui, a move that sparked backlash from Wiper officials. Missed the story? Check it out below;
