Deputy President William Ruto toured Kitui County Friday (24th September). His first stop was in Katheka, Kitui West hosted by Ben Muasya who is eyeing for Kitui West MP seat and where he contributed to women groups from the constituency.
Ruto was accompanied by among other leaders Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai. Mbai was angered by people who were saying there were no leaders to welcome Ruto to Kitui.
“It was said that Ruto was coming to Kitui and there were no leaders to welcome him, they were saying Ruto is being waited by Nimrod, Mueke, and hustlers who are nothing. It is not a must he is received people with big names.” Mbai said.
“If he is received by Mama Mboga has he not been received? It is not a must for him to be welcomed by people with big names. Are all these people cows. Who is this special person to welcome Ruto then? Kasia!” Mbai added.
The Kitui East MP stated that no one should be despised no matter how small they are and Ruto doesn’t look down upon anyone. He also declared a fierce ‘battle’ to those who think they own Kitui.
“These people are joking with us and no one was born a leader but they were made leaders by those mama Mbogas they are despising. If the people decide they want me to be their leader, I will be.” He went on.
Mbai also alleged that there were plans to block DP Ruto from addressing the residents at Kitui town.
