Kamba Benga artist Ken Maria has sent an open complaint letter to Governor Wavinya Ndeti.
In a Facebook post, the artist lamented the state of roads in Malaa, Joska, and Muthwani where he has land that he cannot access whenever it rains.
“Im a resident, voter and an investor in Machakos County. I buried my mother in Machakos County.I have land and plots in Joska, Malaa, Ndovoini, Sunshine, and Muthwani areas of Machakos County .But whenever it rains, like today 20th March 2025, i can not access my land and plots. The roads are totally impassable.” Wa Maria said.

The artist added that Machakos County receives a lot of money from the National Government and even if they are unable to do tarmac roads in the area, they can do all-weather roads.
“Dear Governor, my sister, the national budget allocation to Machakos County per year is huge. We don’t need tarmac roads. No, we need all-weather roads with a working drainage system. That’s all. I’m not a politician anymore..but I’m the voice of a huge section of the population in these areas. Wake up…do something Governor Wavinya.” Wa Maria concluded.
