Wiper Senatorial candidate Agnes Kavindu Muthama now claims that she is a professor of politics just like former Machakos Senator and her ex-husband Johnson Muthama.

Speaking at Katani sunday, Kavindu said that she was able to be the next Machakos Senator as her ex-husband once was teeming herself as a sharpened iron by the former senator.

“Let me tell you one thing am a professor of politics and you know iron sharpens iron, this iron(Kavindu) has been sharpened by the other iron (Muthama) that is why I still insist that he should be respected as he is the father to my children,” she said.

Kavindu went ahead to fire salvos at people who were claiming that she had no academic qualifications saying that she had all that it takes to become the next Machakos Senator.

“And those claiming that am not educated if I stand here and they on the other side they can do nothing because, in the senate, it’s all about a leader who is keen not a leader who will go there to sleep, and also it requires someone with a good relationship with the government to go there so resources can be coming to the county and that person is me, ” she said.

During the weekend UDA party chairman Johnson Muthama was criticized for his remarks he made in Masinga where people claimed he had disrespected his ex-wife Agnes Kavindu for likening her to a dog and telling Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka to come face him man to man.

“I do not want a barking dog I want the owner of the dog who is Kalonzo to come to face me man to man. Am telling him come baby come,” said Muthama.

Wiper senatorial candidate in the Machakos Senate race Agnes Kavindu Muthama has demanded her ex-husband Johnson Muthama to be respected asking that no one insults him.

Speaking at a Wiper rally at Mulu Mutisya Gardens in Machakos town, Agnes Kavindu who has been cleared to vie for the senatorial seat by IEBC said that Muthama was the father to her children and thus he deserved all the respect from everyone.

“If someone is married and divorced, do they just go to die? Should I die or what should I do? Muthama is the father of my children. Even if we broke out, Let no one insult him and let him also respect me.” Kavindu said.

“Have you ever seen me insult him or disrespect him any day? Have you ever seen me with any other man?” she questioned.

Kavindu thanked the president for allowing her to vie under Wiper and the people who voted her for the Women representative position in 2017 where she garnered over 90, 000 votes.

She took a swipe at Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred for fielding a candidate who will oversight him. The BBI taskforce member vowing to prioritize the issue of the portland land if elected.

Other leaders who had attended the rally include Wiper Party leader Stephen Kalonzo, KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi, Ford Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula among other leaders.

Kavindu is set to battle it out with UDA candidate Urbanus Muthama Ngengele, Chap Chap’s Mutua Katuku, Simon Kitheka among others. Over the weekend benga superstar, Ken wa Maria endorsed her candidature.

Kathiani MP wants Nimrod Mbai arrested over remarks against Kalonzo

Kathiani MP Robert Mbui has asked the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to arrest Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai with immediate effect for remarks he made about Kalonzo that are considered inciting.

Speaking at Stone Athi Resort in Athi River after a Wiper’s party leaders meeting, Mbui said that it was so uncouth for a leader of such stature as Mbai to come out and make such remarks saying that was testing the unity and peace of the community.

“We want to ask the DCI to take action against Nimrod Mbai because no one is above the law and these utterances can bring about breach of peace in the country given that this is what happened in Rwanda with the Tutsis and Hutus and it is things which are happening now in Kenya with the Hustlers verse Dynasties, so the DCI should take immediate action to ensure this does not go on, ” he said.

Mbui added that Wiper had the strongest candidate in the Machakos Senatorial race given that Agnes Kavindu was a well-known and respected leader across the county. He warned leaders on making remarks attacking the other candidates.

The Wiper organizing secretary also fired a warning shot at Machakos county MCAs from the Wiper party who are campaigning for aspirants from other parties vowing to take stern action.

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai during a meeting with Machakos residents said that if people allied to Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka went on with insulting Deputy President William Ruto, Kalonzo would be beheaded if he went to the Rift Valley.

“Some members of Parliament have been making abusive words towards Deputy President William Ruto, the likes of Mutula Kilonzo Junior. I want to tell you if you continue like that Kalonzo will go to other areas and he will be beheaded. Let’s stop these games, ” Mbai said.

The remarks have sparked outroar with social media users calling for the arrest of the Kitui East MP.

Machakos Senatorial aspirants cry foul over UDA opinion poll, blame MPS for interference

A section of aspirants allied to the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have cried foul over the opinion poll conducted to determine the most popular amongst them. Urbanus Muthama Ngengele was declared the winner in the poll and is set to be handed the ticket.

According to one of the three aspirants who spoke to Mauvoo News on condition of anonymity, they started suspecting foul play when Urbanus Muthama flagged by Mwala MP and Machakos Town MP met Deputy President William Ruto separately a day after all the other aspirants met Ruto.

According to another aspirant, they agreed on a scientific opinion poll but they were surprised to see Mwala MP Eng Vincent Musyoka Musau bragging about the outcome early this week revealing that he was going to ensure Urbanus Muthama got the ticket come what may. Below is a screenshot of chats by the Mwala MP in a Whatsapp group – Mwala leaders forum handed to us by one of the aspirants.

The aspirants concerns were that the MP should not have taken sides but should have waited for the aspirant who would have emerged the winner. In another conversation, the MP said he would pull his last cards on the Machakos Senatorial race on Thursday ( 14th January).

Another female aspirant revealed how they were surprised to hear some local radio stations declaring Urbanus Muthama as the winner Wednesday while even none of the aspirants had gotten to know the results.

“As early as Wednesday, I was surprised to hear 2 local radio stations declaring Urbanus Muthama as the winner. None of us knew the results. How did the media get access to the poll results? There is something not adding up here.” She questioned.

“Some of us were not even in the poll yet we had declared interest in the seat. Why would our names be left out?” She added.

Concerns were also raised on how the sampling frame was reached. The aspirants revealed to Mauvoo News that they had not been told of the research methodology.

The runners-up former Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala has since conceded and supported Urbanus Muthama but the majority of the other aspirants have remained silent.

Kasolo’s grandmother sheds tears, curses those plotting evil against Kasolo

Stephen Kasolo’s grandmother Mukwenze has expressed disappointment with musicians and people he says are planning for Kasolo’s downfall.

In a YouTube video, she is heard cursing all those who are against her grandson. She adds those plotting the same are definitely harming her.

“What will I eat? what will I drink?” she asks as sheds tears.

Moreover, she outlined that Kasolo provides for her and that he is the sole provider of all that she requires.

“Whoever speaks against Stephen, let him set like the sun or be eaten by animals. If you talk against him what will I eat? Whoever speaks may he die.” Mukwenze added.

Kasolo’s grandmother accuses the people of not minding her health as she recently underwent surgery on her heart and she has not even fully recovered.

“Why are you persecuting me and you see where I am. His mother left him when he was young and I had to bear the burden. Why are you persecuting Kasolo?” she went on.

Myello Speaks after alleged sex scandal with Rachael Kay

Controversial Kamba gospel singer Justus Myello has finally spoken a day after an alleged phone recording between him and female gospel singer Rachael Kay did rounds on social media.

In the alleged recording, Myello admits to cheating with Rachael Kay and tags other secular artists and a renown radio presenter. The recording has caused a huge uproar on social media with a lot of fans questioning some of Ukambani gospel artists.

In an exclusive interview With Mauvoo News, Myello revealed that he is soon quitting the gospel industry and joining secular music. He promised to share that soon with his fans.

The singer however stayed clear of the alleged sex scandal and requested not to comment on it. He did not agree or deny the recording that has since gone viral.

This comes just hours after his counterpart Stephen Kasolo came in defense of the singer’s steamy conversation with Rachael Kay.

In a Facebook post, Kasolo said that Myello was not to be judged as everyone sinned in a way or another adding that every person has a past and they should not be judged by that.

The singer is not new to controversy, in September the Myello lost his cool and insulted Musyi FM Radio presenter Samuel Mutuku alias Kavwele junior. Kavwele in his show had criticized Myello by accusing him of lying that he was born again.

Leaders allied to Ruto vow to wipe out Wiper from Ukambani

A section of Ukambani politicians from Machakos County allied to Deputy President William Ruto have sworn to wipe out Wiper Party from the Ukambani region and it’s leader Stephen Kalonzo.

Led by Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama who had hosted different leaders, aspirants, and Professionals at his home in Mua, Machakos County, he said that come 2022 he will have a party that will sponsor all candidates from the President to MCAs.

“Come 2022, I will have a party that will sponsor all candidates from the President to the MCAs. Let him(Kalonzo) go his way and I pursue mine and see who will win the 2022 elections,” said the former senator.

Former Masinga MP Itwiku Mbai echoed Muthama’s sentiments saying that Kalonzo had failed to establish a strong political leadership for the Ukambani region given that he terms himself as the de facto Ukambani Kingpin.

” As a community, we need a new wave into leadership because it is useless for people to profess love for Kalonzo when he himself cannot offer desired leadership to the community, ” he said.

Chama cha Uzalendo Organising Secretary Davies Musau went ahead and proposed for the formation of a political command center to remove the wiper Party from its dominance in the region.

“The political command Centre will be expected to bring new life to Ukambani politics and liberation to our people from the fruitless loyalty to Wiper,” he said.

During the meeting, Muthama brought in Businessmen Mwaya Kitavi and Donald Mwendwa from Kathiani Subcounty to oust Wiper organizing secretary Robert Mbui who has been in the parliamentary position since 2013.

Sources close to the former Senator said he would be having similar meetings with aspirants from Makueni and Kitui county as he seeks to stamp his political authority in the entire region.

For Matungulu, Subcounty Thomas Musau vowed to oust Stephen Mule who is a staunch supporter of the former vice president while in Yatta the KNUT leader Kasimba Ngui was ready to take over from Charles Kilonzo.

Former Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala, Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka, and Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai were also present in the meeting.

Masinga and Athi River lead Machakos in teenage pregnancy

Masinga Sub-county and Athi River Sub-County lead in terms of teenage pregnancies in Machakos County. Masinga has 705 cases, Athi-River has 568 cases, Mwala 532, Matungulu 506, Yatta 472, Kathiani 403, Kangundo 323, Machakos 307, and Kalama 148.

Speaking On Tuesday Machakos County Children’s Officer Salome Muthama said that the more than 3,900 cases of underage girls getting pregnant were disturbing and messing up with the future of many girls who are currently school going.

She was addressing the press while visiting Machakos Rescue Centre.

“Masinga sub-county has recorded 705 cases and out of this 601 range between 15 to 19 years while 104 range between 10-14 years, Athi River followed with 561 cases of girls between the age of 15 to 19 while seven of them range between 10 to 14 years,” she said.

Salome blamed parents for failing in their roles and responsibilities of advising their children on the rampant issues in society but instead leaving their children to learn from social media and peer pressure.

The children’s officer also blamed the courts for taking a long time on defilement cases and urged the society to be wake and vigilant in the fight against rape and defilement.

In May, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua announced an increasing number of teenage pregnancies in Machakos amid movement restrictions in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic. The Governor asked parents to take care of their children, especially teenage school girls.

Speaking on the new statistics, Machakos Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua said that the problem is a nationwide issue noting that the innocence of children must be protected.

“This is a national problem. During my teenage days, we attended sexual education classes in Church and at school that taught us to avoid promiscuity and protect ourselves from other vices and diseases. We all need to address this problem, Corona or no Corona. Data below.” The Governor through a Tweet said.
