Filmmaker Tina Clara Sparks Debate with Whopping KSh 1 Billion Dowry Expectations

Men who’ve been eyeing the captivating Ukambani filmmaker and content creator, Tina Clara, may want to brace themselves—her dowry expectations are not for the faint-hearted.

The Machakos-born starlet, known for her elegance and bold personality, has become the center of online conversation following a grand premiere of her film Mbaa Ngumbi at the prestigious Argyle Hotel along Mombasa Road in late August.

Setting the Record Straight

Tina Clara, affectionately referred to by fans as the “Kamba doll,” stirred fresh debate this week after she addressed growing curiosity around her marital status. Taking to Facebook, the actress shared a detailed poster laying out her dowry requirements—a move that has since gone viral.

In her post, she hinted that she’s ready to settle down as early as next month—but only if the right suitor meets her very specific, high-value conditions.

What It Takes to Marry Tina Clara

According to Clara’s breakdown, prospective grooms will need to part with KSh 13 million in relationship “insurance”—including:

  • Heartbreak Insurance: KSh 5 million
  • Cheating Insurance: KSh 5 million
  • Body Change Insurance: KSh 3 million

And that’s just the beginning.

She also lists monthly allowances totaling up to KSh 11.35 million, including:

  • Wife allowance: KSh 200,000
  • Motherhood allowance (if she chooses to have children): KSh 150,000
  • Hardship allowance: KSh 500,000
  • Cooking allowance: KSh 200,000
  • Laundry and duties allowance: KSh 300,000
  • Pregnancy allowance: KSh 5 million per child (up to two children)

Clara is also demanding a refund of KSh 26 million for her personal investments—expenses she says were made in “becoming the woman she is today.” These include:

  • Education
  • Rent over the past decade
  • Clothing and grooming
  • Designer perfumes from Paris
  • Therapy for heartbreaks
  • Maintenance for “being beautiful and hot”

A Billion-Shilling Bride

For the wedding, Clara insists on a three-day extravaganza at high-end venues including Windsor, Norfolk, and Tamarind, complete with a custom Vera Wang gown and a white Catholic ceremony, which she calls “non-negotiable.”

Her expectations for post-marriage life are even more ambitious. She lists her desired assets as:

  • A Rolls-Royce Cullinan Black Badge (2024)
  • A five-acre plot in Mua Hills
  • A seven-bedroom mansion with private cinema and spa
  • A retirement horse farm with 20 horses
  • 8 to 10 Bitcoins

All financial transactions, she says, must go directly into her personal accounts, bypassing extended family. “I don’t need you, you need me,” she asserts boldly in her statement.

Breaking Down the Numbers

  • Relationship Insurance: KSh 13 million
  • Refunds for Personal Investment: KSh 26 million
  • Maximum Allowances: KSh 11.35 million
  • Wedding Budget: Estimated KSh 100 million+
  • Assets: Valued at over KSh 849.65 million

Total Dowry Estimate: At least KSh 1 billion

While it’s unclear whether Clara’s post was entirely tongue-in-cheek or a serious declaration of standards, one thing is certain: she has set the internet ablaze and redefined the conversation on modern dowry expectations in Kenya.
