Machakos MCAs ask Governor Wavinya to dissolve cabinet

A section of Machakos MCAs led by Francis Ngunga of Mua and Boniface Maeke of Kalama have urged Governor Wavinya Ndeti to dissolve her cabinet and remove corrupt officials.

Speaking in Machakos, Ngunga emphasized that such action is crucial to ensure that the residents of Machakos are served efficiently and that public funds are not misappropriated.

“All is not well in the government. If Governor Wavinya truly has the best interests of this county at heart, she should disband her cabinet and appoint a new one.” Ngunga said.

Ngunga pointed out that the Governor cannot continue working with non-functional departments and that many ministers are operating in a climate of fear. He also warned that officials who have left office and were involved in graft would face prosecution.

“These individuals have been micromanaged to the extent that they are not performing their duties as required. Those who are no longer in office and were involved in corruption should be aware that we will pursue them, no matter how much time has passed. Confessing is their only option,” he said.

Maeke supported Ngunga’s sentiments, highlighting the prevalence of graft activities and urging the governor to take decisive action.

“The relationship between the governor and the MCA is like that of twins. We must collaborate to find a solution. Remember, if you fail, we fail as MCAs, but if you succeed, we also succeed,” Maeke added.
