Eric Omondi rescues needy Form one boy who cried in Cave

Lewis Muthokumi Mwenda, a Form One student at Kimuri Secondary School, has received overwhelming support from well-wishers after a video of him tearfully praying in a cave for school fees went viral on various social media.

The heartfelt video showed the young Muthokumi, who had not attended school for two terms due to financial constraints, crying out for help to raise the money. His family’s struggles resonated with many including self-proclaimed president of comedy Eric Omondi, prompting a wave of assistance from across the nation

Eric Omondi visited Muthokumi’s family and shared their plight on social media, highlighting their dire living conditions while vowing to answer Muthokumi’s prayers.

“Today, we will return him to school. It’s an unfortunate story.” Promised Eric Omondi.

“This family has been reduced to squatters; they are homeless. They have just constructed a house in a bush. There is no water and no electricity.” Eric added.

Eric Omondi further explained that Muthokumi’s father who is the sole breadwinner previously owned a butchery in Chokaa and could not provide for the family after it was demolished.

“The father had a butchery in Chokaa, but it was demolished. Let’s change their story forever,” added Eric.

The family’s financial struggles have also affected Muthokumi’s younger sibling, who is unable to attend school.

Omondi’s call to action has inspired many to contribute, allowing Muthokumi to return to school and offering hope for a brighter future. Over 1 million Kshs has since been raised and the Boy returned to schoo.
