Machakos County Assembly speaker Florence Mwangangi has told MCAs from Wiper Party who visited Deputy President William Ruto at his Karen residence that choices have consequences.
Addressing the media at Machakos County Assembly together with Wiper leadership, Mwangangi asked Machakos MCAs to be principled in their political dealings as the public was watching.
“There are three members who visited some office in Nairobi and as the majority leader has said they did not represent the assembly but their own agenda. As the speaker, I would like to make an appeal that you be principled even in political thinking. Whichever direction you are taking, the public is watching.” Speaker Mwangangi said.
“You will not be able to serve two masters and for the members of wiper who decided to go to a meeting that is contrary to the interest of Wiper Democratic Movement, you need to appreciate choices have consequences. We have political parties act, constitution, and party guidelines and regulations. ” She added.
MCAs allied to the Wiper party through the party leadership in Machakos County Assembly also disassociated themselves from the wiper MCAs who visited DP William Ruto early this week.
Led by the Majority leader of the County Assembly Mark Muendo they said that the MCAs did not notify the Wiper party of their visit to Karen nor did they go to represent the wiper party at Karen.
“There are three Wiper MCAs who went to UDA meeting in Karen, I want it to be known that they were not representing wiper party but themselves. You know we heard in Karen there is a lot of money,” said Muendo.
“I want to say those who went to Karen were given money, and us as Wiper party we want to say that those who went there did not inform us and Wiper party under our leader Stephen Kalonzo we want to affirm that he will be vying for presidency and he shall be on the ballot in 2022,” he added.
