Senator Maanzo rallies for voter registration in Yatta

Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo is now calling for residents in the Ukambani region to register as voters ahead of the 2027 general elections.

While speaking in Yatta, Maanzo said that if Kalonzo is vying for presidency he will need massive support from his backyard.

He noted that Raila Odinga’s exit from the presidential race will be a chance for Kalonzo to shine.

“Raila is going to AU and from the way we have seen leaders lobby for him he will not lose. This is a chance for Kalonzo to take the mantle as the way is clear. So that is why I am requesting all of you to ensure you are registered as voters as long as you are aged 18 years and above,” said Maanzo.

He noted that the 7 million people who failed to vote in the last general elections did so because they didn’t see a suitable leader to vote for.

The Senator promised to mobilize other leaders to conduct sensitization programs to ensure every one of age registers as a voter in the region.

Maanzo spoke at Kalyambeu where he had attended the burial of mother-in-law to former Yatta MP Charles Kilonzo.

Other leaders present include  Yatta MP Robert Basil, Former deputy governor Benard Kiala, and Masinga central ward MCA Joshua Mwonga among other leaders.
