Maanzo insists 2022 polls were rigged, explains why he skipped Azimio demos

Makueni Senator Daniel Maanzo has claimed that the 2022 General elections were not free and fair.

In an interview at a local TV station, Maanzo said that if the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) servers are opened they would show the final tally.

According to him, Azimio leader Raila Odinga won the elections and Kenyans need to know the truth.

“The Biometric Voter Registration was adopted to ensure no rigging but I can tell you that in the last elections, there was rigging and if the servers are opened then my claims can be substantiated,” Maanzo said.

“The court did not order for opening of the servers because they said it was against the rights of Kenyans or something like that but be sure rigging happened and Ruto knows if the servers are opened then he will go home,” he added.

The lawmakers noted that President William Ruto and his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua are in power because Kenyans are okay with them.

“If Kenyans did not want Ruto in power he would not be there today, you saw the way those in France did. 70 percent of the citizens demonstrated,” he noted.

Maanzo further claimed that the Kenya Kwanza Government was full of pride and despises other leaders and that the president was being misled by his Deputy Rigathi Gacagua.

He urged the government to ensure the pleas by the opposition about the high cost of living are taken seriously.

The legislator also defended his absence in the Azimio demos by saying that he would join if only Raila would pledge support for Kalonzo’s 2027 presidential bid.
