Kalonzo won’t go for Raila’s running Mate vetting and might vie as independent – MP Maanzo

Makueni MP Daniel Maanzo has reiterated that the party will not allow their leader Kalonzo Musyoka to attend an interview for the position of running mate to the Azimio-OKA Presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Speaking to Mauvoo News in Wote, Makueni, Maanzo said there is no reason for the Wiper party leader to be vetted before becoming Raila’s running mate since he has been with Raila for a long time and so there is nothing the coalition doesn’t know about him.

“Kalonzo Musyoka has done enough interviews and has been vetted enough times in his political career. He was the Vice President for 5 years and he has also worked with Raila Odinga for 10 years. We will not allow the leader of Kamba community and Wiper Party to face the 7-member panel for questions that are obvious,”MP Maanzo said.

He insisted that if Azimio-OKA coalition will not directly pick Kalonzo Musyoka as the running mate of Raila Odinga, Wiper Party will ditch the coalition and they might have Kalonzo Run as an independent.

“We still maintain that if Kalonzo is not the running mate of the Azimio-OKA coalition presidential candidate, then we will leave the party and we will know what to do with our votes. The Kamba community and Wiper Party must be respected since Wiper is part of the three-legged stool in the coalition. No Kalonzo, No Raila,” he reiterated.

Maanzo’s remarks come just hours after Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka asked Ukambani leaders to go slow on demands to Azimio on his position so that they don’t appear as lacking self-confidence saying his fate was in the hands of God.
