Senator Kiio attacks Ukambani Wiper leaders during Yatta Prayer

Kitui Senator Enoch Kiio Wambua has launched a scathing attack on Kamba leaders.

Speaking during the prayers held at Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s home in Yatta, Kiio slammed Ukambni leaders and more so those in Wiper for pushing for ODM Raila Odinga to back Kalonzo in the 2027 presidency.

Kiio said that these leaders would only wait when there are guests to show their loyalty but when needed somewhere else they are nowhere to be found.

“Baba, in 2013 Kalonzo walked with you in CORD, in 2017 he was with you in NASA, and in 2022 he supported you fully in Azimio One Kenya Alliance. We want to promise you that this community will walk with you wherever you will go,” said Kiio.

“Allow me to say this and I am sure you will hate me but forgive me, our leaders you claim to walk with Kalonzo whenever he visits the region accompanied by other leaders but out there you don’t declare the same or show him support. When there is trouble in other regions like Kisumu, Migori, Nyamira among others, go with Kalonzo to those areas and prove your loyalty not just Ukambani,” he added.

The outspoken Senator added that leaders begging Raila to support Kalonzo were misleading the community.

According to him, the presidency is not offered on a silver platter but rather fought for.

“I don’t want to hear anyone tell Raila to support Kalonzo in 2027 again, the presidency is not given but a battle to be fought, prepare yourself to fight for the seat, are you ready to fight,” he posted to the shouting crowd.

Kiio spoke after Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu asked Raila Odinga to reciprocate the support he has received from Kalonzo and endorse him for the presidency in the next general election.

Other leaders who attended the prayers include Raila Odinga, Martha Karua, former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni, the three Ukambani Governors Wavinya Ndeti of Machakos, Julius Malombe of Kitui and Mutula Kilonzo Junior of Makueni among others.
