Yatta: Teacher Commits Suicide Over Debts

A 50-year-old teacher of Kinyaata Primary School from Kivani village in Kinyaata Sublocation, Yatta Sub-county of Machakos County has committed suicide.

Confirming the incident Kinyaata Sublocation Assistant Chief Nelson Mwilu said that the teacher was found hanging at a bush nearby.

According to the Assistant Chief, the teacher might have taken his life because of the impending loan debts that he had accumulated after being loaned some money by Shylocks.

He called on people to engage the leaders and their friends when in trouble noting that taking one’s life does not solve problems rather it adds more problems.

“Today we have found a 50-year-old teacher had hanged himself and we have come to know that he took his life because of debts that had accumulated. He had gotten the money from a Shylock,” said the Assistant Chief.

“My plea is that if you have any problems kindly do not take matters into your hands rather ask for help from leaders or friends,” he added.

The Body of the deceased was moved to Matuu Level 4 Mortuary for preservation.
