Former Machakos Senator and UDA Chairman Johnson Muthama Nduya has unveiled his running mate for Machakos Governor ahead of the August elections.
Speaking at Kitulu Day Secondary school where he had gone to offer condolences to the family of former Machakos Town MP Onesmus Kikuyu, Muthama said that his running mate was Professor Faith Muli.
According to Muthama, his choice of running mate was driven by the fact that he wanted someone he could work with and also someone who was easier to interact with the residents of Machakos and deliver well.
“Here is a woman, a Professor from Ukambani. She comes from Mwala, Vyulya. She is Faith Muli, her husband works in Machakos and she knows more of leadership, she has vied severally,” Muthama said.
“When I was searching for a running mate, I wanted someone who has a smart mind and a humble who can interact with the other women. I did not want to choose someone who will be speaking English to you on top of the trees rather someone who you can easily reach as well as interact with her,” he added.
Muthama joins the list of the candidates who have so far unveiled their running mates. This is after CCU party leader and Former Statehouse Chief of Staff Waita Nzioka unveiled Speaker Florence Mwangangi.
Other Leaders eyeing to take over from Governor Dr. Alfred Mutua are Former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Maliti among others.
