United Democratic Alliance (UDA) Chairman and Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama Nduya has said that he is the only suitable Governor for the people of Machakos.
Speaking at Kikambuani in Kangundo, Machakos county after a church service, Muthama said that his track record as the MP for Kangundo and senator for Machakos county makes him the best candidate for the position.
“This governor’s seat is being contested by many people. Others give you money maybe 100 shillings, you are told to go home and don’t forget. But when you are told that, ask who is vying and when you hear Kiamba know that is the only person who can manage the county,” Muthama said.
“Let’s not hide anything, can I be counted the same way as other people vying for the seat? if you want to throw your vote again this time around do so,” He added.
The vocal politician revealed that he was not going to be campaigning for the position as he was determined in ensuring the DP clinches the presidency.
“If you want the Deputy President to be the next president, let me go and campaign for him so that I can be having two things at a go, one in the National government the other in the County Government,” The UDA chair went on.
Muthama will be battling for the gubernatorial seat amongst former Transport CAS Wavinya Ndeti, Former Statehouse Chief of staff Waita Nzioka, Mavoko MP Patrick Makau, Speaker Florence Mwangangi, Deputy Governor Francis Maliti among others.
