Comedian Sammy Kioko has announced that he is selling his car, the one he won in the 2018 Ultimate Comic Challenge. This comes just a week after he asked Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti to pay him money he said he is owed.
In a video posted on his Facebook page on Monday, November 3, 2025, Kioko explained why he has decided to let go of the car he has owned for eight years. He said the car has been a great blessing in his life and invited anyone interested in buying it to reach out.
“Today morning, those who know me understand that this car has been a blessing to me for the past eight years. For those who have followed my journey for the last ten years, you know how I got this car, and it has truly been a big blessing in my life,” Kioko said.
Kioko also shared the difficulties he has been going through, which have forced him to sell the car, and added that he plans to offer it at a low price.
“Sometimes, as a man, you have to make tough decisions, even when they hurt. That’s why I want to sell this car, and I also want to bless someone with it at a fair price,” Kioko said.
Kioko also explained that he has been under heavy financial pressure as he tries to get medical treatment for his sibling abroad, which pushed him to quickly decide to sell the car.
“This November, I wanted to take my sister—my friend—out of the country for treatment, but time is not on our side. So, for serious buyers only, please send me a message. Whoever has a good offer can take the car as a blessing,” Kioko went on.
The comedian’s decision has sparked sympathy online, with many Kenyans expressing concern over the financial pressure he is facing.
This follows the Machakos County Government’s dismissal of his claims, stating that Kioko had no contract with them and suggesting the issue was politically driven.
In response, supporters have rallied behind a planned demonstration expected to take place today, aimed at pressuring the Governor to settle the comedian’s alleged dues.
The protest is set to coincide with the Machakos Youth Service Graduation Ceremony, which will be held at the iconic Whitehouse in Machakos and led by Governor Wavinya Ndeti. Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is expected to be the chief guest.
As tensions rise, the key question is whether protesters will succeed in demanding payment for the comedian while the county proceeds with the high-profile graduation event.
