Senator Kavindu defends her silence, challenges Machakos MCAs on oversight

Machakos Senator Agnes Kavindu has defended her silence on Governor Wavinya’s administration.

Speaking over the weekend during the burial of John Ndunda, father to Machakos Transport CECM Rita Ndunge in Kola Kavindu said she doesn’t come out to criticize Governor Wavinya in public as she and the County officials listen to her and answer her calls.

“I do the oversight of the County Government, and I am the one who will inform you when the Governor fails in her job. When I call her when we have issues, she works on it. You want me to come and tell her in public? I did that for Mutua because he never picked up calls and couldn’t listen. Stop saying the senator is silent, I call the Governor and the CECMs and they are here they can bear me witness.” Kavindu said.

“The Senator has no business to come to the ground, we now have oversight funds, expect to see me…We need to be respected and given space to deliver.” She added.

Kavindu challenged the MCAs to use the county assembly for petitions, statements, and motions when things need to be fixed.

“Our MCAs, I want to hear statements, petitions, and motions instead of speaking in funerals. If a CECM is not working summon her and ask her why she is not working. If that fails push it to the senate and we will summon the Governor herself.” The Senator went on.
