Kenyan comedian Sammy Kioko has cautioned the public about a fake TikTok account impersonating him and using his name and likeness to solicit money from unsuspecting followers.
Through his Instagram stories, Kioko shared a screenshot of the fraudulent account, warning fans to remain vigilant.
“This TikTok account is conning Kenyans and people from the diaspora by asking for contributions. I have not asked for any. Be cautious,” he wrote.
Kioko clarified that he has not initiated any online fundraising campaign and urged his followers to only trust information shared through his verified social media pages. The impersonator has allegedly been using his photos and videos to trick fans into sending money.
He emphasized that he does not run any donation drives and appealed to the public to report the fake account to prevent further scams.

Cases of online impersonation targeting Kenyan celebrities have been on the rise, with scammers exploiting their fame to defraud unsuspecting fans.
The warning comes just days after Kioko announced the closure of his shops and production areas due to serious financial challenges. In a heartfelt message on Instagram, he wrote:
“The worst that I was fearing is happening..!! It’s with a heavy heart that we’re announcing the closure of our shops and production areas. Despite our best efforts, we’ve faced significant challenges that have made it impossible for us to continue operating.”
Kioko thanked his supporters and team members for their loyalty, assuring them that the shutdown was temporary.
The comedian linked his financial troubles to a pending payment dispute with the Machakos County Government, which he claims has left him in deep financial strain.
“There’s need to be paid. Anyone from Machakos County kindly help. Things are not okay. I have suffered enough,” he appealed in a recent post.
