Rick Be and Nicholas Kioko explain why Ndeke will not perform at Kamba Festival

Media personality Oga Obinna has ignited a conversation after publicly questioning the decision by Kamba Festival organizers Rick Be and Nicholas Kioko to exclude Ndeke ya Muthanga from this year’s performance lineup.

Speaking during his Obinna Show, the outspoken host pressed the festival’s organizers for answers, asking why such a significant artist had been left out.

Mbona Ndeke hayuko kwa lineup?” Obinna asked.

Festival organizers Rick Be and Nicholas Kioko responded by defending their decision, explaining that Ndeke ya Muthanga had performed at multiple previous editions and that the festival aimed to provide opportunities to other artists, too, who are yet to appear on one or both of the festival editions.

“First edition alikuwa, second edition, third pia. Kuna wasanii wengine,” said Rick Be, emphasizing the need for diversity in the lineup.

“The cake is too big, everybody has to get a piece. Kuna hata wasanii walikuwa first edition hawakumake second edition. Kuna wenye walikuwa second hawakumake third. Na tunang’ang’ana kila mtu apate chance.” Added Nicholas kioko.

Obinna further stirred the discussion by revealing that Ndeke ya Muthanga has been expressing frustrations online, claiming he played a key role in making the Kamba Festival popular and deserved to be part of the event.

“Ndeke amekuwa anacomplain online. Kwanza anasema ye ndio alifanya Kamba Festival ikue kubwa. Is it going to be big without Ndeke?”;
