Paul Mackenzie’s Mwala family speaks

The family of controversial preacher Paul Mackenzie from Ikalaasa in the Mwala sub-county of Machakos county has broken their silence over the Shakahola happenings.

Led by Mackenzie’s uncle, Kisini Samuka condemned the happenings at Shakahola and hoped justice to be served to the victims.

Kisini narrated that Mackenzie’s father left home in the early 60s and went to reside in Mombasa where he worked then moved to  Malindi, Kilifi county.

It was at Malindi where Mackenzie was born and bred and the preacher was only seen home in 2010 while attending the burial of his father.

“His father, my elder brother left Ikalaasa for Mombasa where he worked. We were brought up as Catholics but he changed and joined AIC church, he would come home with cards asking for contributions to the church we would give him our contributions as he goes back,” said Kisini.

“As for Mackenzie when he came for the burial I heard he had opened a church but didn’t get more information about the church until all this happened,” he added.

He disclosed that Mackenzie has eight siblings but two of them have passed on.
