Nimrod Mbai: Kalonzo’s presidential bid is a pipe dream

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai says that Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s 2027 presidential bid is a pipe dream that cannot see the light of day.

Speaking at Kibwezi Mbai observed that Kalonzo does not have the political muscle nor funds to vie for presidency and win.

He noted that Kalonzo should just support President William Ruto or let the Kamba nation join the government and get development.

According to the lawmaker the Kamba community has been on the periphery of governance for over 20 years under Kalonzo’s leadership achieving little progress in terms of development and representation.

Mbai outlined his views on the strategic direction the Kamba nation should take. “Kalonzo should either throw his support behind President William Ruto or align the community with the government to ensure meaningful development,” he suggested.

Mbai argued that remaining outside the government’s sphere has not benefitted the Kamba people, citing the need for a shift in approach.

“The book of Galatians says that do good to everyone especially those of the house of faith. To speak the truth the Kamba nation is not a house of faith when it comes to Ruto and Kalonzo should decide what is best for the community and stop holding it hostage,” Mbai added.
