Mwingi West, Kitui East and Kitui West 2022 MP Results

Kenyans went to different polling stations on Tuesday the 9th of August to vote for different candidates. Below are some provisional results for MP in Mwingi West, Kitui East, and Kitui West.

In the Mwingi West Parliamentary race, the Provisional results from 140 polling stations out of 160 showed that Charles Ngusya Nguna who was the sitting Member of Parliament garnered 19,044 votes – an early lead, Patrick Koki Musau popularly known as Kuvasila got 6,578 while Wambua got 2,891.

Kyuu who was also in the race garnered 1,812. Bernard Kitungi got 498 vote, James Songolo 614, Munyoki wa Bookshop 534, Maundu 68, Nguu 104, Mulekya 450, Nanga 38, and Francis Kauta 60.

In Kitui West, Provisional results showed that the incumbent Edith Nyenze had a distant lead with 18004 votes, Benedict Muasya of UDA came second with 7490 votes, Ben Mbai of the Jubilee Party with 6094 votes, Dennis Muli Mulwa who was an independent candidate garnered 3042 votes while Sammy Ngangi of Maendeleo Chap Chap got 951 votes.

According to provisional results for Kitui East Parliamentary seat, -177 out of 193 polling stations in the constituency, Nimrod Mbai the incumbent of UDA garnered 21,129 votes while Millitonic Kitute of Wiper followed with 11,183 votes, Rt. Major Muluvi came third with 1,919 votes, Mulaimu Mavusyu got 1,809 votes, Muthusi got 459 votes and the rest got 521 votes.

Parliamentary elections in Kitui Rural, Kitui County did not take place on Tuesday due to a lack of ballot papers. The problem was first noticed at Kwa Vonza Primary School when voters were issued with only five ballot papers instead of six.
