The aspirants, drawn from across Makueni County, had come together to raise issues around free and fair nominations and resource support by the Party.
While raising their issues, the aspirants pointed out that there are some leaders who are close to the top party leadership and who have publicly stated that they have already been promised the nomination certificates.

Concerns were also raised in the meeting of some leaders who are busy promoting divisions among Makueni party leadership and proud that they have direct contact with DP Ruto and the Party Chairman.
Concerns about leaders who go to Karen to collect money for their own personal interest with little impact on the ground and some not being members and aspirants of the Party were also discussed.
Those present chose Prof. Emmanuel Mutisya, the Makueni County Gubernatorial candidate, and DP Ruto’s technical and economic point man in the county, to be their link with the party leadership and DP Ruto. They noted that they have full trust in Prof. Mutisya especially where resources are involved. The meeting resolved If there is any mobilization resources from the DP or the Party, all leaders including MCA aspirants should be involved in the planning process.

He pointed out that UDA is a strong Party and everyone will have space if they all work together and win the various seats in the general elections. For party nominations, he said that the Party will work on options; competition, negotiations, and scientific survey.
“Working together as a team is important if we are to win many seats, and UDA will continue reaching out to Kenyans to sell the bottom-up economic model and what it means to the people.”The meeting further resolved.
UDA has gained ground in ukambani, with DP Ruto leading the presidential vote according to the most recent survey, with 52% for UDA compared to 27% for Wiper Party.
