UDA National Party Chairperson, Johnson Muthama Friday (28th January) held a meeting with registered UDA aspirants from Makueni County to address their concerns in preparation for the upcoming general elections.

The aspirants, drawn from across Makueni County, had come together to raise issues around free and fair nominations and resource support by the Party.

While raising their issues, the aspirants pointed out that there are some leaders who are close to the top party leadership and who have publicly stated that they have already been promised the nomination certificates.

They said that they were very concerned because they are spending their resources and time marketing the party and DP Ruto. Concerns were also raised in the meeting of some leaders who are busy promoting divisions among Makueni party leadership and proud that they have direct contact with DP Ruto and the Party Chairman.

Concerns about leaders who go to Karen to collect money for their own personal interest with little impact on the ground and some not being members and aspirants of the Party were also discussed.
