An 18-month-old boy died this morning after being knocked down by a vehicle at their home in Kithuani, Matungulu sub-county of Machakos county.
The saddening incident was confirmed by Nguluni chief Serah Mutua who said that the man was reversing the car at home before hitting the boy.
The chief noted that it was an accident as the man did not know the kid was behind the vehicle.
The child was rushed to Kangundo level 4 hospital for medical attention but died.
“The boy was home for the holidays and today morning the grandfather, father to the boy’s mother got into the car and while reversing he hit the little boy who was behind the car,” Chief Serah said.
“The baby was rushed to the hospital but died it’s a sad incident that has hit the family,” she added.
The chief revealed that the parents of the kid were not home at the time of the incident and that the boy was the only child.
