A 25-year-old woman from Kyandulyu area in Makueni County is receiving treatment at the Makueni Referral Hospital after allegedly being brutally assaulted by her husband in a horrifying case of domestic violence.
Confirming the incident, Officer Commanding Mbumbuni Police Station (OCS) Antony Mmaitsi said the woman sustained serious injuries to her private parts after a domestic dispute turned violent.
According to the OCS, the 33-year-old suspect returned home and, for reasons yet to be established, attacked his wife and used his bare hands to inflict the injuries.
“The man came and attacked his wife for reasons unknown. He used his hands to tear her private parts. She is currently undergoing treatment at Makueni Referral Hospital,” said Mmaitsi.
The officer strongly condemned the attack and urged couples to seek peaceful and constructive ways to resolve conflicts instead of resorting to violence.
“My plea to couples is that they should resolve their issues amicably without going to such extremes that cause harm,” he added.
The suspect is currently in police custody and is expected to be arraigned in court as the investigation into the incident continues.
