Barely a week after being elected to office on Maendeleo Chap Chap, Mwengi Mutuse of Kibwezi West and Caleb Mule of Machakos town have ditched Raila Odinga for William Ruto.
The two together with their party leader Dr. Alfred Mutua appeared at Kenya Kwanza elected leaders meeting in Karen and had some photos with the Deputy President.
Maendeleo Chap Chap party is still in a legal agreement with Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition and some leaders did not move to Kenya Kwanza when Mutua left for Azimio.
2 Weeks ago, Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka endorsed Mwengi Mutuse for the Kibwezi West MP position and asked his wiper candidate to drop his bid in favor of Mutuse.
Mwengi Mutuse beat his competitors by garnering 30,821 votes closely followed by James Mbaluka of UDA with 20,744 votes and Seth Kakusye of ODM with 600 votes.
In Machakos constituency, Caleb Mule who was the MCA for Muvuti Kiima/Kimwe ward brought the sub-county to a standstill after defeating UDA’s Victor Munyaka who was seeking to be re-elected for the fourth time. Caleb got 47,596 votes while Munyaka got 20,000 votes.
