Machakos Women Rep Aspirant Liz Kisangy’ a who is vying for the seat on an Empowerment Liberation Party ticket has said that upon election in August she will ensure that there will be an entrepreneurship program for the women, youth, and people living with disabilities aimed at alleviating poverty in the society as well as creating job and sources of income.
Speaking at Kangundo, Liz said most of the time many leaders who are seeking elective seats tend to forget the vulnerable, women and youth in the society.
“People Living with Disabilities, Youth and Women are mostly forgotten in the society. I will ensure that they have a purpose in society. If elected Women Representative, I will come with an entrepreneurship program to ensure that they have income through job creation and reducing the levels of poverty,” she said.
The youthful leader promised that she would push for motions in parliament that are meant to benefit the people of Machakos in a bid to uplift their living standards.
“As a member of the National Assembly my aim is to create and push for motions that will help and benefit the people of Machakos and more so the vulnerable in the society,” Liz added.
Liz is among several aspirants who have shown interest in unseating the incumbent Joyce Kamene Kasimbi. Other aspirants interested in the women’s representative seat include Rita Ndunge of Maendeleo Chap Chap, Selina Mwende Kioko of the Federal party of Kenya among others.
