A 20-year-old student at Machakos University was found dead in his rented house in Katoloni area, Machakos town outskirts.
Confirming the incident, Katoloni Sublocation Assistant Chief Dominic Matheka said that he was notified by a neighbour who lives in the house about a body in the area and he rushed to the scene.
“I received a call from a neighbour and rushed to the scene, upon arrival I found a dead guy who later I learnt is a student at Machakos University,” said Chief Matheka.
“I have taken photos and called the OCS, forensic team together with the DCI and they have visited the scene and began investigations to determine the cause of death,” he added.
The Assistant Chief went on to call landlords to ensure that they get all the details of their tenants so that when issues similar to this arise they can know who to contact.
“We have a lot of students that live in this area and it is important to have all the details of the tenants like copies of their identification cards and emergency contacts that may help in case of an emergency, “The chief advised.
The Body of the student was moved to Machakos Level 5 Mortuary awaiting postmortem to determine the cause of death.
