Machakos Town MP Caleb Mule has questioned the County Government of Machakos for giving non-locals tenders.
Speaking at Muvuti Kiima Kimwe in Machakos Town Caleb said that he had noted the majority of contractors in Machakos County were not Machakos residents.
“Let’s give jobs to our people. Here in my constituency projects are being done by people from outside. There is a hospital here in Kiima Kimwe it’s being constructed by a Somali same as a toilet of 1.2 Million being done by a Somali,” said Caleb.
“My urge is to the County Government of Machakos let the projects in the County be managed and contracted by our own people, we have skilled people who can do that,” he added.
His words were echoed by Kilome MP Engineer Thaddeus Nzambia who said that it was wise for projects in the County to be done by people from the county so that they create jobs.
Caleb was in the company of Matungulu MP Stephen Mule, Kaiti MP Joshua Kimilu, Kilome MP Thaddeus Nzambia, Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai among other leaders and MCAs over the weekend.
