Machakos: CBO Launches Campaign against Teenage Pregnancies.

Women for Women Community-Based Organization from Matungulu, Machakos County has launched a campaign against teenage pregnancies in the area.

Led by their Chairperson Victoria Mulalya, the team revealed that cases of early pregnancies in the area had become rampant and it was high time that the issue was resolved.

Mulalya who spoke during the launch at Matuu Estate Primary said that the campaign was going to extend to other sub-counties so that teenage pregnancies can be put to an end.

“Our aim as a CBO is to strengthen teenagers and teach them the consequences of early pregnancies and how they can avoid it. We have launched this program today and we are going to be moving from sub-county to sub-county to sensitize pupils and students on these matters,” said Victoria.

“Cases of teenage pregnancies and drug abuse have been on the rise and it’s high time we addressed them. If we do not address the matter it will undress us very soon,” she added.

The Chairperson went on ahead to plead with area leaders to support learners who come from poor backgrounds so that they can have an opportunity to learn.
