Machakos based gospel musician dies at Kenyatta hospital

Renown gospel musician Shadrack Masai is dead.

Masai succumbed to kidney failure at Kenyatta national hospital in Nairobi while receiving treatment Friday morning. (14th January)

Masai is popularly known for his hit songs Upendo wa Kwanza and Thina Mwingi which took over the airwaves several years back.

Fellow gospel artists from Ukambani led by Stephen Kasolo sent their condolences to his family.

Akamba nitwaasya Mwini wi Nguma Shadrack Masai My condolences to the family,” Kasolo in a Facebook post said.

Masai was a secondary school teacher, a song writer and a preacher apart from being an artist.

On the 2nd July 2021, Masai took to Facebook and announced plans to start a Radio and TV ministry after being electrocuted.

“I am soon starting radio and tv ministry after the lord brought me back to life after the deadly electrocution. I want to accomplish my purpose in life.feel free to support this great call.” Masai taking to Facebook said.
