Majority Leader in Kitui County Assembly Harrison Maluki has rubbished claims that a section of MCAs are collecting signatures to impeach Speaker Kelvin Kinengo.
Speaking on Thursday, Maluki who is also the Migwani MCA said the claims are baseless and are being peddled by misinformed people.
The county lawmaker indicated that the MCAs are closely working with the Speaker to ensure that the locals get development.
“There have been claims of a fight between the Speaker and the MCAs. I want to state categorically that there is no such thing. We are working with the Speaker because we want to ensure Mwananchi who voted for us is given development as we promised during campaigns,” Maluki said.
“We know there may be one or two disagreements and that does not mean that we cannot see eye to eye,” he added.
He disclosed that the County Government of Kitui was planning on starting murraming roads.
His sentiments were seconded by Kauwi MCA Gabriel Munyao who said there is no single reason for them to think about impeaching the speaker.
“We are with him 100 percent and also working with the Governor and those expecting fights will wait for long,” said Munyao.
