Kasolo Slams Katombi over ‘Kasuva’ song

Controversial gospel artist Stephen Kasolo has fired shots at popular Benga artist Alex Kasau, also known as Katombi, accusing him of lacking originality in his latest track, Kasuva.

Kasolo claims the song’s beats are lifted from classic Kamba tunes, sparking a heated debate among fans.

Despite acknowledging the song’s catchy vibe, Kasolo didn’t hold back, suggesting it could have made an even bigger impact if Katombi had stuck to his unique style.

He didn’t stop there, hinting that Katombi’s recent troubles in the music scene began when he started criticizing gospel artists.

“This song is good, but it’s copied. Katombi, go back to creating your own songs,” Kasolo quipped. “Let me tell you for free, your issues started when you began speaking ill of gospel musicians. Seems you’ve forgotten where you started,” he said with a mocking tone.

Kasolo noted that Katombi is gifted and that is evident in his old tracks.

‘Kasuva,’ released just last week, has been met with mixed reactions. While some fans are captivated by its nostalgic beats, others have raised eyebrows, claiming it recycles elements from old Kamba songs

Despite the criticism, Katombi remains unbothered, even poking fun at the situation on his social media, further fueling fan curiosity.

With the song currently at over 164,000 views on YouTube, Kasuva has undoubtedly captured attention—though perhaps not in the way Katombi initially intended.

As the debate rages on, fans are eagerly watching to see if Katombi will respond to Kasolo.
